Snow days

There is something peaceful about the snow. When everything in life comes to a pause. You can literally stand outside, and hear nothing, but maybe the breeze that brings chills straight to your bones. All you see is pure whiteness everywhere. For that moment,  life as you know it is at a peaceful stillness . No cares, no worries. You are just being.

Having time to think reflect on life, and having nowhere to go. Here are a few thoughts I had:

Nobody likes being forced to do nothing. Yet, when we're so busy and there's no break on the horizon. We complain that we need a break. Then, when God forces that upon us. We think we're being punished. We need to remember that some blessings are in disguise.  Just enjoy the moment when it's given.

You are forced to clean out your closet. The good, the bad,
the ugly.
Not just your actual clothing closet - that happened too. Who am I kidding?! But also your heart. Your mind. What is holding me back from true happiness, or who? What are the steps I need to take? You got time to figure those things out, and wisely figure out a soulution.

Exercise really is the best, and eating right is hard even when your forced to eat all the healthy foods you bought at the store, before the storm.

You decide you're going to move for reals this time. California here I come... Someday, someday, someday..

You realize how much you love your friends. You knew that before, but you REALLY know now.  Friends are important asset to your life walk. Don't take them for granted. Ever.

You're forced to walk outside, and enjoy the snow.

You're forced to accept that the rain isn't so bad after all...

I'm not going to lie... It was great spending time with roommates, and kinda being helpless - for the first day. Next time, I think we all need to make a point to take a break from our busy lives, and just be.
Let's not wait for another storm to pass to make us slow down, and relax a little.
Listen, follow, Act.  That's what I learned being in my house over the few days.
Not only that, but last time I invested in a good pair of snow boots, and an ice scrapper. By the time a snow storm hits again. I will have invested in a Subaru, and a possibly a boyfriend... :)
